Tom Willi, previously a specialist in engineering and construction for chemical and plastics plants in Houston, moved to Austin in April 2000 for a semiconductor job. However, the Austin dot-com bubble crashed later that year, prompting Tom to seek new career paths. Drawing on his construction expertise, he entered the roofing industry, noticing its need for improvement.
