An article published by The Dallas Morning News on January 21, 2014 states that contractors in the Lone Star State are very optimistic about 2014 due to the recovery of the Texas construction industry. Roofing and other related industries can look forward to a positive year. The following excerpt provides more information:
“Contractors are more optimistic about 2014 than they have been in a long time,” Stephen Sandherr, chief executive of the Associated General Contractors of America, said in a conference call.
U.S. construction employment grew just over 2 percent, or 122,000 jobs, for the year ending in November, while investments rose 6 percent, Sandherr said. Still, industry employment and investments are below peak levels, he said.
Texas gained 10,300 construction jobs in the first 11 months of 2013, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.”
The positive outlook of the construction industry can be traced to the gradual recovery of the housing industry and the American economy. Indeed, the American economy is stronger now than it has been since the Great Recession began six years ago. This economic revival has given residential and commercial property owners more confidence, and many are choosing to upgrade their Austin roofing systems.
Reroofing—whether it’s complete roof replacements or reroofing overlays—can significantly increase the property value and curb appeal of homes and commercial buildings. If you’re thinking of selling your home or commercial building in the near future, a building with a functional and aesthetically pleasing new roof will definitely sell more quickly. Contractors that specialize in commercial roofing in Austin, like Willi Roofing Services, can install high quality roofing materials and systems from top manufacturers.
